Entry tags:final fantasy iv, final fantasy tactics, final fantasy vi, i can't draw, kain/legolas otp, nash latkje's shoes, suikoden, when memes attack!

Mmmm, violence.
First off, I got tagged by efters to do the handwriting meme.

Handwrite the following things and upload it so your friends can see what your handwriting looks like!
1) name/username
2) left or right handed?
3) favourite letters to write
4) least favourite characters to write
5) write "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
6) tag 5 people

Now for the meat of this post: crack Final Fantasy crossover fanart!! I've had some requests and, um, yeah, so you can either click or pretend this never happened.

First, here is the "gothic Locke" drawing I promised [info]wolveswithhats awhile ago. It's not as gothic as I wanted it to be, because actually I fail at drawing, but look, over there, a distraction!!

[info]gamera wanted Suikoden drawn Final Fantasy Tactics. Mostly Nash's Suikoden III outfit because his Gaiden one suffers from a mild case of being a dress, but I drew grosser flux because Nash dual wields like a ninja.

This is the fault of the [info]final_fantasy_6 community, but [info]rydia was distressingly interested in Setzer dressed as Gambit too. So, uhhh. You can click for fullsize.

And how can we forget that time I predicted what would happen in the FFIV sequel using fanfiction.net? Really, I'm pretty sure the reason Kain went all betrayal on the party is because Cecil wouldn't share his haircare secrets.

And now for some audience participation: Comment with something (or a few somethings) that you would like me to make a "Top 5" list of. (Top 5 TV shows, etc, whatever) I'll post them in my next entry.. BE CRUEL.

It's a SLUMBER PARTY. What do you think they do AFTER?!

But Locke is generally pretty upbeat for an angsty FF main/closet necrophiliac. HE HIDES HIS PAIN INSIDE.

Ahaha, the person I got tagged from listed alpha as one of her least favorite letters to write, so I expanded on the theme.

Greek looks really pretty printed on the page, but gah, I cannot write it for crap.

Hahah, we should plot out Nash's FFT skillset in detail, and then write bad crossover fanfic.

Kain's destiny is finally fulfilled in the sequel. He loves that herbal essences.

I support this idea more than I probably have anything else in my life. He would have a recruitment sidequest where you'd eventually get Sierra, too.

I KNEW I COULD COUNT ON YOU. Obviously you could recruit Sierra through him, but her skillset is easy to picture-- draining, instant death-- Nash's is more complicated and needs to involve baking in some way.

I WROTE THIS IN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES, and it really shows! But I did attempt bonus Bunansa family antics in the bargain, though I am sad I could not fit in any reference to being a married man paired with hitting on Agrias.

"You've decided that our forces required the aid of Prince Larg's personal pastry chef?" If one could be cloven in two by merely the sound of a woman's voice, that voice would be that of Ser Agrias at that very moment and that man would be Ramza.

"Well, not as such-- you see, he's not precisely a pastry chef by trade." Ramza's explanations, which could have cleared everything up in short order and revealed their mysterious traveler to be a man of noble enough personage even for Agrias, were cut short by Ser Nash himself (who was, by all appearances, not particularly eager to have the misunderstanding in question cleared up even if it meant drawing the ire of someone as formidable as Agrias).

"That is a vile slander, Master Lugria," he said, effectively cutting off any further attempts by Ramza to establish his occupation as something other than a pastry chef. "I am the finest patissier in Gallione-- nay, in all of Ivalice! They say that the War of the Lions first began because Prince Goltanna desired the wondrous confections that came from the tenebrous depths of my kitchen--"

"Tenebrous?" Mustadio echoed.

"It means dark," Balthier said.

"I know that, but why in the world would his kitchen be--"

"Do not question the mysteries of the culinary arts, my mechanically-inclined friend, just as I do not question the eldritch secrets of black powder and clockwork."

"Eldritch?" It was Balthier's turn to question their newest recruit's somewhat liberal vocabulary.

"It means strange," Mustadio said helpfully.

"I know that, but that doesn't change the fact that clockwork is not--"

"I believe I was addressing the machinist, good ser, just as I would not see fit to question him about the great expanse of the skies or the hidden treasure-caches of the world." That got him a strange sort of look from Balthier, but Nash didn't volunteer forth any information about how he had figured out the man's rather unorthodox (not to mention physically impossible) occupation.

"You still have not explained to me," Agrias said, sounding still more vexed, "why we require a pastry chef."

AHAHAH NASH STEAL HEART IS 40% AT BEST

"You still have not explained to me," Agrias said, sounding still more vexed, "why we require a pastry chef."

"'Tis regrettably clear that milady has never had the pleasure of my pastries," replied Nash. "I’ve a fresh batch out just now, if Ser Agrias would condescend to grace the darkness of my caverns with her splendor and light."

From the look on her face it was clear she was not interested in going anywhere near his tenebrous places.

"O, you needn’t look at me that way; my intentions are pure and honorable! I am, after all, a married man." This time, the Bunansas' faces mirrored Agrias' skepticism. "I take it I've no need to explain what that means?"

"Mayhap his definition is different than ours," offered Mustadio.

"It is for her sake that I ask to join your company, as I was trying to explain before I was so rudely interrupted," Nash continued smoothly, wiping his hands on his canvas apron. "You see, good sers, we were traveling together, as is our way, when a most curious incident occurred. I would direct you to the Knight of the Cameo Role on this particular point, but I do not like to presume." He stopped for a moment to run his hands through his hair, mussing it full of flour. "In any case, we two were separated, and I have employed my considerable talents in the service of His Grace since, ever searching for a way back into her loving arms."

"That may be so," said Agrias. "Yet we have less use for a cook’s wife than for the cook himself."

"I assure you, Ser Agrias, my Sierra is a most capable woman. She will serve your company well, if we can but find her."

At last this seemed to satisfy the company, although Nash’s good humor was somewhat addled by the mention of his apparently unusual wife. Ramza, at the least, was quite relieved the rest of his fellowship had accepted the mysterious gourmand.

"Hold a moment, Mister Clovis." 'Twas Agrias, of course, her objection surprisingly sudden. "How is it you came to be acquainted with my name?"

"Did you not tell me?" Nash regarded the sureness of her expression, his own face almost exaggeratedly thoughtful. “How strange. I must be slipping."
